PRINCE2 Training - benefits of 2009
PRINCE2 is the most widely used project management framework. There will always be fundamental differences in each time the qualification is refreshed. The refresh has been implemented by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) and two other partners for its best practice portfolio: TSO, the official publisher and the APMG, which is the official accrediting organisation.
The new version of PRINCE2 training amplifies the seven basic principles which are universally accepted by all project managers, making communication from different departments in large organisations simple. By universal acceptance it is meant that project managers from all fields such as industry, property and healthcare can all communicate efficiently. So overall the project gets delivered on time and within budget. There were 8 existing components and Configuration Management is the one component that is missing from the new set of themes. This is because it has been incorporated into ‘Issues & Changes’.
Other less significant changes are that the language in the new manuals is far easier to understand in terms of comprehension. So to conclude, there is an improvement in the PRINCE2 course, making best practice management easier, more efficient and easier to implement under budget constraints.
