ITIL Training - V3 - one year later
The change from V2 to V3 has a lot of differing opinions and on the consensus delegates sitting the new version of ITIL training believe that it is an improvement. Surveys show that the new version does coincide with how business and IT are moving forward in the current economic climate. Previous versions of ITIL were positioned towards an idyllic world; however this is more of a realist course and is positioned towards the real world. It has even been said that this version has answered anomalies that other versions had overlooked.
The service strategy element of the course has completely changed and this is the root of most controversy. Many people believe that people in IT have no influence strategy of the business and therefore this part of the course highlights the impact that IT has on the overall objectives of the business as the whole. It is a known fact that IT workers know ‘how to do things’, but it is important to ask first ‘why do we want to do this?’. So if these people know why they are doing things, they will know how they impact the business and therefore will have a positive influence on productivity if they want the business to do well.
