There is a high number of specialists in the field of learning development and leadership. So it has come as no surprise that some have once again shown innovation with their announcement of the launch of an audio series of PRINCE2. PRINCE2, the acronym for Projects In Controlled Environment is currently the accepted benchmark method used for process based project management. PRINCE2 is widely utilised in the UK by both the private sector and the government and has become the norm internationally as well.

 

The first edition of PRINCE2 was launched in 1996. Since then the content has been refreshed and updated on a regular basis. In the fast changing world of project management, both in the IT industry and in general, these updates have been necessary to ensure that there in continued harmony and compatibility in actual project management as part of their jobs every day.

 

The most recent update of PRINCE2 was launched during summer 2009. It is most noteworthy that This new version was created by some of the original team who created the original version back in 1996. This most definitely shows that there has been some good insight into the authoring of the latest PRINCE 2 version.

 

So what is the need for the creation of an audio series of PRINCE 2, 2009? Primarily the audio guide is aimed at already registered PRINCE2 Practitioners. It is aimed as tool for those that wish to refresh their qualifications by sitting for the re-registration examination. It is felt however that the audio series can be used as an invaluable introduction to PRINCE2 for people that are completely new to it. In our current highly technological world and given the competitive market place, most often projects will involve people from several parts within an organisation. People speak different languages, thus making cross functional projects problematic. PRINCE2 is the needed control for project management and clears the air of uncertainties.

 

The audio series comprises of sixteen episodes with each episode giving numerous examples and insights. These cover the importance of projects in the 21st century workplace that is ever changing and moving faster.
